[ One month into 2025

In my last entry I said that Christmas 2024 was going to be one to forget. In
fact it became one to remember as I got really sick, and for the first time in
a long time. Thankfully it wasn't what I had feared, and I was soon on the mend
again.

I migrated from OpenBSD to FreeBSD (as a server) a while back, and I have
since stopped tinkering with things. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" the
saying goes, so I just leave everything be, and it runs smoothly.

Who wants to read the news these days? and I ditched social media years ago, so
I've been going out for walks around the city. Tokyo has been cold and windy
for a little while now, but it's been brilliantly sunny every day, too. I tell
myself to go out and enjoy it now, before the heat and humidity returns.

Of course, there are places I need to avoid because the crowds can be awful.
Akihabara and Ginza come to mind: there are so many people on the streets that
it's tough to walk. The trains are often crowded too, but there's nothing I can
do about that.

With us being at the beginning of a new year, we have national holidays again
(November and December don't have many) which means more days off from work.
Golden Week feels like it's just around the corner.
