[ Seeking warmth
Cold weather came upon us quickly this year. I thought it was going to be hot
forever, but we're already in the single digits. It's very cold in the mornings
and after the sun goes down, and it goes down rather early too. It sits low in
the sky these days, seemingly so far away.
With the amount of sun we have each day though, there's no danger of seasonal
affect, and during the day it's warm enough, so I'm enjoying the break. I think
we had six months of warm weather this year, so it's nice to wear a coat and
gloves again.
Speaking of a break, I am counting down the days until Winter break. Something
I used to do in the past, when having to endure unpleasant situations, was to
make my own count down calendar. I kept a piece of paper in my desk saying:
__ DAYS UNTIL FREEDOM!!
and then at the end of each day I'd cross off the number and count down by one.
Christmas 2024 in Japan is going to be one to forget. It is not a national
holiday here and worse yet the 24th and 25th fall on weekdays this year, which
means they're regular work days. Undeterred by this country's blasphemous
treatment of a holy day, I've been making my own festive mood.
On
https://www.klowner.com/wallpaper/ there is a wonderful collection of Tux
wallpaper and I've been using xsnow on my desktop. In the evenings I play some
classic Christmas songs.
I'm not sure we'll get any snow this year, but it has snowed at least once over
the past two years so I haven't given up hope.
