# Zip Ties

## Zip ties are better than duct tape
Yesterday I was driving back home from San Fransisco in a
pretty bad rain storm. As I got past the tunnel on the Bay
Bridge, my windshield wiper broke. The annoying part of this
was that I had just replaced the wipers a month ago. What
was stressful about this was traffic was moving at speed,
and I had to find a way to pull over with almost no
visibility.

#Luckily, I still had a handful of small zip ties in the car
from wrapping cables for my radio in the car and the radio
at the office, (from about a year ago).  I was able to
remount the wiper with a few of those, good enough to make
it home to buy better windshield wipers.

#Lessons learned
Don't buy the cheapest windshield wipers.
Always leave some zip ties in the car.
