3. **Scenic Landscape**: There is a nearby lake bed that ocassionaly contains water used for irrigation. Lately it has been dry and cracked. The farmland is yellow and dry. It is apparant the majority of the crops do not make it to harvest. Use descriptions to paint a picture of the dry, cracked lake bed and the yellow, withered farmland. Show how the failing crops are a source of concern for the residents and contribute to their economic struggles.
4. **Tight-Knit Community**: All lof the residents know each other by first, middle and last name, as well as three or four generations back.
