Today I'm writing this from a local cafe on my
thinkpad. Lately, I've come to enjoy the simple
joy of just bringing my laptop to a nearby cafe
in my town, bring a pair of cheap earphones and
listen to some nice music while browsing the
web, gopherverse, play some interactive fiction
and read my e-mail. It's actually pretty relaxing,
and the wifi here is pretty decent too.

I've scoffed many times at "hipsters" and others
who bring their laptop with them to the cafes around
town, but since I've started doing it myself,
I've seen that it's actually pretty nice.

Today, a sunday, this place is open until 2100, but
when I arrived around 1900, the place was pretty
much empty, save for a few people sitting on
the pattio outside the entrance, so it's
calm and quiet in here, which is also nice.

I'm thinking about taking up photography for real
again. I've lagged behind with my film-development
for a while now, and I think it's caused by some
personal events and changes that has happened in
my private life during the last 6-7 months or so.
I had a really inspiring trip with a friend yesterday
to a nearby abandoned mine, and while we were
exploring the large headframe, we started goofing around
with portraits or eachother. This made me want to
further develop that side of my photography; up
until now, I've only really spent most of my
time photographing architecture, landscapes and
cityscapes, but not many arranged portraits.
I'd like to use my medium format camera; a
TLR called a "Yashica C" to do these portraits
in the future. There is something special about
medium format that I quite like.
