Today I tidied up my gopherspace. I deleted the test files, and the test directory. For now, there's just this logbook. I'm not sure how often I'll update this - I
have a tendency to engage with my interests in flurries, so it could be quite sporadic. We will see.
Yesterday I put myself forward for a project at work. I generally avoid taking on extra responsibilities like this - the job is already demanding enough, and I get
overwhelmed by things quite easily. I'm trying to work on my resilience, though, and this particular "opportunity" makes good use of the skills I have already. My
hope for the project is to implement some "quality of life" improvements to regularly used documents[*]. If my vision for the project works in practise, I think it
will be very useful to the people in my team, especially its newer recruits. I don't often feel able to contribute much, other than my general knowledge and a
friendly ear, so it will be nice to create something tangible.
I'm getting a bit faster at navigating my way around SDF. Not lightning-fast, but I'm starting to remember some of the commands for moving around the bboard and
com now, which is nice.
I might write a bit more later. We'll see.
Until then,
lilac
