Looking at humanity is often like looking at a set of funhouse
  mirrors, broken and distorted versions of yourself. That can
  make them very annoying, especially if they have traits that
  amplify the same stuff kids made fun of you in childhood or
  adults scolded you for. You're trying to get away from that
  stuff within your own psyche, and HERE'S somebody broadcasting
  it brazenly, and shutting them up becomes utmost priority
  suddenly.
