Need a better "we" here because I already care. I don't need
convincing. I can't answer the question as posed. Sorry.   ==
It's a truth you speak here. White privilege can be explained
simply: It's better to be white in the USA than not. It's
ridiculous that it's that way but it is. I'm 'white'. I can't
say I got 'special favors' but at the same time, I *can* get
special favors without having to beg for special programs.
Shouldn't be that way but it is. That's white privilege. For
example: Let's say I want to get ahead in business connections.
Someone who believes white people are oppressed may say, "Oh,
but special programs for minority business owners". Ok. But why?
What can white people do that's easier? I can make friends with
someone who has a membership at the local golf course. I can get
in. Play a few rounds. Tell my story. Make a few connections.
Get fed work. If I'm minority? Can't. That's one simple example.
== Committed less or caught less? From a distance is it the
white guy who is committing the crime or the black dude? It must
be the black dude. White guy escapes. == Ah, you're speaking
murder. Well that's very specific at least in the table of
potential crimes. I'd attribute it to cramped shit
neighborhoods, where hopelessness is multigenerational, no
outside helpful resources on the 'outside'. Your police are
generally white and don't understand what it's like. Your
friends IN the neighbrhood with you want you to stay there.
[this is also true in blue-collar white neighborhoods - I come
from one... and they don't cheer on your success but want you to
fail and stay at the bar with them]... and dozens of other
potential factors. These aren't excuses but you're looking at
the final tally and not what leads up to the tally. In short,
it's not that you're wrong but it's not very helpful. == Nope.
They do. But do you deny that people are also products of their
environment? That there are constraints upon such free choices
available in the pool of possibilities to them, as long as they
accept the roles scripted for them to perform? == There's
different levels of free in free agency. == Example: Get in your
jet and come over here so we can have a beer together. Bring
your concubine too. Let's party. Can't? Ah, but some can. ==
There's more crimes than that. People are in prison for child
support. People are in prison for drug offenses. People are in
prison for rape. How'd they get into prison? What process did
they go through? What eyes spotted the crimes? Is justice color
blind? == eh, weak. So many missing steps in the process. I
don't KNOW how many crimes are committed that aren't caught. Do
you? == If you believe there's a 1:1 correlation between "crime
committed : criminals caught and put in jail" then .. .well,
good for you. I'd love to have that much faith in the system as
it is as you do. == Going with the rare isn't convincing. Go
with the common. Most people aren't in jail for murder. Most
people are in jail for other things. How can you bring up a rare
thing and use it to explain the common? == It's ridiculous
because the population is not evenly distributed across the
nation in equivalent environments with equivalent policing
procedures. It's statistical games you're playing. Not at all
convincing or logical or rational. == You've invented imaginary
people to make a point and you can't see how ridiculous that is?
== Let's go to "all other offenses:" All other offenses (except
traffic): 2,602,939 66.9% White 30.4% Black == Now you want to
argue an isolated statistical black person is a higher
percentage of criminal within than white? or something like
that? You have to take into account population density. Policing
procedures. Are these things happening WITHIN ghetto
neighborhoods with conditions not equal to, say, white suburbia?
etc. == You gotta do better than playing statistics games. All
the marvelous copy/paste work you did, utterly wasted and
  unconvincing. Sorry. ==
