If you want to know what's unique about yourself, compete. If
you want acceptance and validation, cooperate. If you want to
find out what's unique about yourself and be accepted and
validated for your uniqueness, compete and cooperate at the same
time. If you want to be stereotyped, join a "we" group. Then you
can compete against the "not we" group. Then the "not we" group
will know what is unique about your "we" group. Your "we" group
will know what is unique about your "not we" group. But all the
selves get just a little bit lost in the process. Still unique
but with less self-knowledge as the areas of acceptance and
validation of the "we" group allows one to hide from one's self.
The "not we" group will then get the knowledge that might have
gone to you. Other members of the "we" group will also get the
knowledge that might have gone to you when there is internal
"we"/"not we" competition within the "we" group.
