There's a legit one about four plots down from me. Mysterious
hill, strange things around it. This area was once swampland
that was filled in with massive amounts of sand and plants by
the US Army Corps of Engineers in the 1940s, which led to the
"Got some swampland to sell you" in the 60s by two scam artists,
to us buying the property 14 years ago or so.
So, the mound isn't ancient - but Seminoles *did* live here for
a time between the 1940s and the time we got it, and some
dude/gal is buried there.
I feel bad for whoever buys that plot of land. I don't believe
in cursed land but it's still going to be rather awkward.
Come to think of it, there's a Seminole reservation a town away
[ they have their own police force which is cool... for...
police anyway ] - I should tell them they forgot someone.
