*be patient. there's a moral-to-the-story at the end, if you
like that kind of thing. I like morality tales, so that's why I
write them* Weird stuff. 6 years old. Had my hearing checked. I
_appeared_ to be *daydreaming* or not paying attention but I
just _couldn't hear_ above all that noise. This applies to
school, work, life. I never got that _buddy helper_. Only
occasionally got a quiet controlled classroom. Tried the hearing
aid thing _once_ later on but it sucked and the hearing-aid
thing, I refused. The thing is, through all that, I heard what
was important. I learned to pay attention to the most important
information through all the noise. I didn't always get people's
subtle cues, whispers, laughs but that stuff didn't matter. It
was games. Just social games and I didn't play the social games.
When you can't hear well, you have to decide what's important to
listen to and most importantly, what you can ignore. There may
be craziness around you in life. Learn what's important to
listen to. Learn what you can ignore. Focusing is difficult but
possible. What really matters to you has everything to do with
what you pay attention to. If you don't pay attention to
something, you can't remember it. You can't remember what you
didn't hear in the first place. Know what matters to you. Give
it your attention. You will succeed. Just don't give up. Life's
a struggle but it's worth it. I couldn't hear much. I can't hear
much. But I've learned what matters, not just with focusing my
hearing, but in life. It's doable. We all have limitations but
we can worth past them to achieve success, ignoring what's
unnecessary for you and paying attention to what's important to
you. What's important to you? Only you can find that out for
sure. You don't always get a buddy to pay attention for you but
if you do, listen to them. They might hear something you
don't.[1]6yrs-old-hearing-suggestion
