I do understand. There's the life we physically go through each
  day, and then there is the life that is inside. People like us
  have what I have heard call a "rich inner life ". It commands
  attention. We could be adding up columns of numbers and turn it
  into the most amazing experience possible. Perhaps it is one of
  the reasons that I like Microsoft excel so much: even though on
  the surface it app...ears to simply add up columns of numbers,
  instead, it is in reality an empty canvas with which one can
  paint with numbers and with words. You are not even limited in
  going from left to right, as you are with a word processor. Nor
  are you limited to the size of a canvas, as you are with a
  painting. It has the qualities of infinity. There is something
  about that that I appreciate. "
