I think you're making the right choice. now you'll have to
  invest in chargers - one for the car, one for home. the days of
  '3 weeks inbetween charges" will be over when you get a
  smartphone. But you just can't beat the quality of pictures and
  facebook and features that you get with a droid - yes, I have
  droid envy. Make sure the one you get has a newer version of the
  operating system on it. if its an extra $50 to start with and it
  has, say, version 2.1 versus 1.6, get the one that's 2.1 -
  there's a big different. Spend your extra $$ up fromt for a
  slightly better phone, and do the unlimited $50/month contract.
  I think for your needs, you can't go wrong. "
