When it breaks, it's EASY to fix - getting the cover off is the
  hardest part. Ours died a few weeks back. After some research I
  figured out it was the "lid switch" - when it breaks it won't
  agitate, it won't spin the timer won't move. It's a $20+ part
  ...and once you figure out how to get the cover off (hardest
  part as mine had no screws) the rest is just snap out the old,
  snap in the new. Magic fix. When you have electronic parts and
  they break, the circuit boards are VERY VERY expensive and not
  worth the $$$. "
