When I was 10, 'they all' pushed me into taking special piano
  lessons for julliard music school. After 6 months of that crap,
  I said, "Ma, no." She thankfully agreed.

  I saw it was a life of perfect practice even at 10 yrs old.
  Creativity? Zero. Not for me.

  never pursued music professionally for that reason either. I see
  bands repeating the same songs over and over and even jazz
  improvisation as limited to certain styles. Meh. I play for fun,
  for myself.
