Hi Adam. Great work that you've been doing. I'm Kenneth Udut.
Back in 1990, when I was 18 years old, I created the children's
rights list while a student at Hampshire College, which I
managed to get on a LISTSERV and it became
[email protected]. I ran it for a few years, even after
leaving Hampshire College. It grew at one point to a membership
of several thousand people from around the world and was an
"open to all, no barrier" electronic mailing list. I passed the
mantle on to two trusted members of the list by 1994 and I think
it ran for a few more years after that. Anyway, I was happy to
find out that the NYRA grew from a couple of members on my list
who branched off and continued a more activist set of efforts,
and also helped Sarah Fitz-Claridge and David Deutsch launch
Taking Children Seriously, a philosophy of parenting and
education focused on a no-coersion methodology. Anyway, just
wanted to say "Hi!" and I'm just as active but working in the
background, not on legislation or giving talks or activism
(because I've never been strong in those areas) but in helping
empower individuals on the 'net develop their strengths,
connecting them to like-minded creative people so they can
branch off on their own and be themselves, finding a freedom
through their own creativity despite whatever life-situations
they find themselves in. When you feel trapped, look around for
the freedom hidden within. Think about it and you'll find it.
It's there. Good job, Adam, and keep up the great work!
