^Just thought up a great Times Table game for a group of kids:
Get cones, pieces of paper, popsicle sticks, whatever - and do
it like a relay race. Kids stand in a line (go to the back when
you're done to keep it rotating) and do 1 times 1 - kid runs up
puts one cone on the other side of the room. All yell: 1 times 1
equals 1. 1! Next kid puts the next cone down in front of it.
All yell: 1 times 2 equals 2! 1! 2! Go down up to 12 then
across. the last bunch of kids would be carrying a lot of
cones/papers/etc - but it physically would show the benefits of
multiplication. (makes heavy addition easy by multiplitying
instead) It would work easily up to 12 x 12 - lots of counting.
12 would be: 12 times 12 equals 144! Each time repeat the
  previous ones. 12 x 2 is 24. 12 x 3 is 36. 12 x 4 is 48! Yell it
military style, top of the lungs. BONUS: take a picture as each
kid adds each the cones/sticks/whatever and video - have a
helper straighten out the rows/columns. At the end, make a video
including a stop animation of the multiplication process. Wow,
took longer to explain it then picturing it. Just flashed in my
  head.^
