Oooo... tough call.... civilization... eeek... civil... given
  the behaviors of individuals that live within geographical
  boundaries under a common set of laws with enforcers of that law
  in various forms, along with other sets of laws with enforcers
  that are unwritten (I think mean-girls as one example)...
  ... it's hard for me to see civilization as a reality either.
  I can, at present only go with cultures and subcultures. I'm
  'atheist' (metaphorically speaking) to "society" and
  "civilization".

  Odd too, because I had once considered becoming a sociologist.
