The trouble with the Meme is that the idea of empty space
  implies sort of a "particles vs energy" view of reality.

  But when you consider that they're more like "variations on a
  theme", everything starts to fill in, all around you with life
  and movement and expansion and interconnectedness.

  Here's a thought experiment I do sometimes: Imagine everything
  that's solid turns to gas and everything gas turns to solid.

  The whole Universe. All at once.

  You're suddenly gaseous and the air around you is solid.

  Put yourself there for a few moments as you look around the
  room.
