Interesting.. Echoing-as-repetition. The uniqueness remains
bound to the original, yet at each echo, it is also a
uniqueness, as nothing can truly be repeated _in full_... yet it
is STILL anchored to the unrepeatable original, making it a
  repetition just the same.

The drum beats once in a cave and echos against the walls. Each
reverberation unique and yet, because its existence is owed the
original event, it is a still a repeating; perhaps not exact but
nonetheless owes its life to its birth.

That's my first impressions of this. Yet causality is
interesting in another way - the reconstruction of the
hypothesized original from the echos going backwards in time. Do
we reach a first cause? an origination point? Is the drum beat
truly the original, or is it a repetition of drum beats long
past, yet still a repetition because one is able to beat a drum
at all... the last beat of the drum dependent upon the first,
which is lost in time, yet we suspect it is there.

This goes away from general vs specifics somewhat but it's hard
  not to wax poetic.
