Infinite mental regression could be observers of observers of
observers, or it could be the infinite mirror optical illusion
but bouncing around the six-second phonological loop, home of
jingles, ear-worms and every song that gets stuck in your head.

I conceptualize it as overlapping personalities based upon every
person you've ever known, real or fiction - it's all fictional
(since we only know of a person what they show and how we
  perceive - ie - a fiction-based-loosely-on-reality).

Helps me sort out my thoughts sometimes. "it's YOU AGAIN,
mean-girl from when I was 8 year old. Why are you talking with a
deep male demon voice? Begone, little witch!" and head clears
  up. :P

You're not crazy. We all have voices. Some are worth listening
  to. Some are worth ignoring.
