I'd blow out my space available in this box.

Short: I read Summerhill, "Why Johnny Can't Read", and
"Unschooling" when I was about 14 yrs old. Before that, I used
to complain to teachers and fellow students about the system, as
  young as 2nd grade.

Formed a kids/teen's youth rights discussion group in 1990 when
I was 18 yrs old (worked with UNICEF and other organizations for
a bit, which gave a place that helped ppl find each other that
ended up forming OTHER youth rights groups, which still exist
  today.

It got thousands of members - not bad for early Internet.

Years of ranting, complaining, coming up with solutions.

Then I realized, school sucks. It always sucked. It *will*
always suck. Doesn't mean ppl can't keep fighting. But the best
I can do now is help kids/teens/parents/helpers cope with the
shitty systems they find themselves in as best I can, in
whatever capacity I find myself in.

So yeah, I don't wanna get started talking about it tongue
