Thing is: you can't eliminate people from getting behind a cause
  and joining a group. It's not religion that's the issue: It's
  playing sports with bombs that's the problem. People hardly
  cooperate as individuals. Get people in groups to cooperate with
  other groups? Even more rare. Want them to fight to the death?
  Just criticize one of their mothers. == Take any pick. I'm a
  contrarian. A group avoider. Unfortunately, that ALSO puts me in
  a group under the flag of OTHER group avoiders. ...which kinda
  sucks. ==
