Scott, you're not wrong. We can do better. A LOT better. I'm not
saying, "Be glad to be in the USA because being homeless in the
USA is _still_ better than being employed in most of the world".
It's the truth but at the same time, we're a powerful, RICH and
strong country and don't HAVE to live at those levels of poverty
that other countries have. Nor should we allow ourselves to get
there because it seems to REALLY REALLY suck. == I'm just as
bad. I was getting REALLY MAD because my cellphone provider
(Sprint) changed to a leasing agreement and was getting myself
worked up over the new terms and the consequences... ...BUT...
then I had to say "STOP IT KEN. [1]#firstworldproblem here." Or
struggling with bills. I have to remind myself to be glad I have
them. They represent services that are easy in a rich country. I
_could_ complain about them but then I remember there's kids in
a West African country who have to drink alcohol instead of
water because their local water supply is tainted. Go-gooders
come in with water, try to build wells, fail, and then leave.
I'll never have to live that life. ==
