Yeah, I kinda gave up on privacy rights *way* back in 2002 when
Google absorbed Usenet (which was the Facebook in the 1990s,
along with BBS's, AOL and stuff). I found posts from 1990/91
that I really *didn't* expect to be findable via a simple search
and I had to scramble to get them deleted.

Since then, I just accepted that whatever I do online is
probably saved _somewhere_ other than where I expect and I'm ok
with it. The people I feel bad for are chronic Snapchat users.
They actually _believe_ their stuff is deleted just like they
say. The good news is, most of the crap that goes on slides by
  without anybody caring about it.

But... that little blurb in the user agreement that nobody pays
attention to regarding police and authorities and monitoring and
stuff is _actually_ the most important thing.

Oh well. They wave the myth of privacy in front of people and
because they want to believe it, they do believe it.

I just feel bad because the Snapchat company is playing on their
ignorance. Then again... so is Facebook and other places that
give lip-service to "privacy" but really, it's always been a bit
of a joke. Online banking especially so. I use it, but i also
know the risks. Had my acct wiped out on me once, although I got
it back. Wasn't surprised that it happened - I was surprised
that it took so long for that to happen tongue emoticon
