If you want to find some good resources, go do to the sources of
  the most radical forms; they're inspirational.

  See John Holt's Why Johnny Can't Read and Unschooling. As old as
  they are, they got the ball rolling. They were old when *I* read
  them in the early 80s as a young teenager but I found myself
  grinning the whole way through because *finally* I felt that
  someone in the 'adult world' really understand my pain.

  Also, JS. Neill's Summerhill for a rosy and indealistic but
  interesting account of a very real experimental school system
  done along the lines of what you may be thinking of.

  Neither one is about homeschooling but they're each related to
  the homeschooling movement. I'm REALLY glad that, within my own
  lifetime, Ive watched it blossom, along with the "infinite
  library" of the Internet. I remember when I *had* to go to the
  books and... microfiche. I dreamed of pocket information devices
  that brought libraries in the palm of your hand. Now, we have
  smartphones. yet, school still sucks for kids just like it
  always did. So, at least some of my dreams came true.
