In middle school, I dreamed of something like the Internet for
meeting people and travel. By 10th Grade, I got my first taste
of it. 1988. Never stopped traveling. Been traveling for 27
years, as much non-stop as I can. I had to wait 7 years for the
REST of the world to start catching up to nerds like me but now?
we take it for granted.
My grandmother's day, it was TV. Tried showing her computers and
the Internet but she had her TV. That was her travel-window.
I suppose before that it was Radio, and before that, books.
Still, there's nothing like smelling air from another land. I'm
just annoyed about teleporters. I got "my internet", but not my
teleporter yet. Don't mind buses and trains. Hate driving and
planes though. Couldn't imagine a long boat trip.
So, I make do and enjoy what I got here I keep waiting for what
the _next_ thing is that will surpass the Internet like the
Internet did for TV. Don't know what it'll be, but it'll be
something.
