I believe the future can easily affect the past as much as the
  past the future. The final form giving clues for how it *might*
  become, like echos.

  But as in fate or destiny in a fixed sense, or "no free-will" as
  in a Science sense? No.

  More like possible future selves calling backwards in time.

  Otherwise, it's series of choices based on constraints provided.

  Mind you, there is a _lot_ of freedom within the constraints.
