For me I've been furiously studying my own mental processes and
  taking LOTS AND LOTS of notes, studying the brain in general,
  from both a high level (processes) and at a very zoomed in
  level. It gives me a headache sometimes, but great insights and
  I hope to end up with a system where emotional management will
  be a simple of matter of remembering to ask yourself a question
  or two while "in the mo...ment" or doing one or two little
  things that always work. But I'm building it as much from
  scratch as I can, using experience as my own guide (test,
  retest) rather than looking at someone else's "overall theory" -
  and using other people's theories as "proofs" in case I need
  validation. 3 month long obsession but I'm getting close. "
