anytime I was successful for any length of time quitting, its
  when I found a replacement for it - something NEW that took my
  focus - a new routine, etc. I also used pretzels - tiny stick
  pretzels i'd put in the cigarete pack and munch during smoke
  breaks - turned a few ppl at work on to that. Each time would
  last about six months. I'll get around to it again one day i'm
  sure - but right now, I'm focusing on cutting down, which is
  easier for me than quitting. "
