Kids have no voice. Until the age of 18, with some exceptions,
  you're basically a legal infant. I think there needs to be
  _some_ more gradients at the very least... some way for kids to
  get a legitimate voice _before_ they have to get wrapped up in
  these messes. But, they're like ping-pong balls. Bounced back
  and forth. The boy that's on the run is, unfortunately, making
  the best decision he can: wait it out 'til he's 18. He's lucky.
  He seems to be in good shape, clean, well-kept, whoever he's
  staying with is probably good to him, whether it's friends or a
  trusted adult somewhere. But look at all those who run away and
  end up in even worse circumstances? Yet, what's available?
  There's the courts. What other ways are there to negotiate
  truth? What's true? What's false? It's a mess and I feel bad for
  the ones with the least control in the whole process.
