That's like wishing we'll all be peace-love-and-harmony if we
all work together as a team. Also will never happen. Neither
will the USA become segregated into ethnic enclaves. Nice to see
idealism is still alive in people though. People do love their
various Utopias. == Utopian is "if only we do this, that and the
other thing, or if THEY (whoever 'they' is) do this, that and
the other thing, everything will be OOOOKAY!" == "this that and
the other thing" is an expression. What it encompasses is
drawing up a plan of action, systemically analyzing every
contingency imaginable, mobilizing the plan of action and
enacting it according to a timeline with milestones and
goalposts until mission is accomplished. Always ultimately
fails. Successes are partial at best. Utopia never is reached.
Have to settle with partial victories littered with wastelands
of failure. Happens every time. See no reason for that change.
Doesn't mean one shouldn't shoot for it. But it's good to have
at least a toe in the real world in the process imo. == Hitler
never impressed me much. He came and went. == I dunno. He was
the product of his time and era. Someone else would've been a
Hitler if it wasn't him. Him personally wasn't very impressive.
Even his regime wasn't that impressive. Lasted, what, 6 years? I
never understood people's fascination with him. == I'm just
expressing my opinions Nik. I wasn't there at the time. My
TARDIS that brings me to a point where any of my opinions about
that time period could have any significance whatsoever is
broken. == I talk about myself because it's the only semi-honest
stance I can have. I could go around talking about things "in
general" - 'as if' I was the President of Earth. "This is how
things should be". But I'm not President of Earth. Well, Google
thought I was for three months. I don't think the other guy was
a Nazi. The Nazi regime died out decades ago. These people today
are something new, something different. Maybe they were inspired
by whatever, but you can't recreate the past. It's 2016. What's
my point? You tell me. I'm just seeing things and when I see
something absurd from anybody, I comment.   == The world is
gonna be an average dog colored tan/brown in a few hundred
years. Get over it. Races, such as they exist, can't be made
"more pure" anymore. Too late. What you're preserving is an
impure mixture that you'll never get 'back'. === Even if you DID
succeed in segregating people, you know what'll happen? THEN
you'll get the Irish/Scots camp vs the Italian/French camp. Then
the Irish vs the Scots and the Sicilians vs the Northern, and
the various Frenches in enclaves. etc - and you'll find a
microcosm of "the old world" that will splinter and splinter
until you got "these families that trace its roots back to
ancient athens" and "these families that trace their roots back
to ancient thrace"... ... it's ridiculous. Can't work. Fail
before it starts. Silly utopians. == It's Mutts vs Mutts. No
pedigrees left. Maybe Iceland. They could probably make a point
of it. Can't think of anybody else though. == That's cool. I
have a linguistics bug in me and once I tried learning Icelandic
for approximately 7 minutes. That's as long as I lasted. I think
I made it 15 minutes into Celtic. Decided to stick with Romance
languages and PIE derived ones. tongue emoticon == Yeah, it's
linguistically pretty special. It had _some_ links in various
language groups but it's stretching it in some cases. ==   Where
race leaves off, you got nationalities. Within nationalities,
you have families. Within families you have cousin vs cousin.
The shit gets complicated. We had a lot of Mafia families where
I came from, tho' I'm not Italian. They weren't 1/2 as bad as
the different Slovak groups - and this was right through to 2002
when I left for Florida. Here in Florida, white's white,
haitian's haitian, mexican is mexican, black is black. It was
very convoluted in NJ. Lines weren't drawn via races so much. ==
All depends where you live. You can generalize for your area and
experience and whatever data sources you got. The stuff I know
won't be on the statistics - it's just how people are. == Plus,
as genetics testing becomes more common - and likely mandatory
at some point, we'll ALL know our backgrounds. THEN you'll see
some interesting shit go down. ==
