Oh this has little to do with religion. I'm talking about living
  vicariously through others more than anything. For example: It's
  important to look out for asteroids. Well, sure, it's important
  for someone to look out for asteroids. Are *YOU* looking out for
  asteroids? Am I? Is Maybe. Or... maybe we're living vicariously
  through the worries of those whose job it is to worry about such
  things. The military. The scientists. The people who watch for
  them as a hobby. But any of us? Why would we worry about it? Be
  aware of it? Sure. But worry? Not our job. Unless worrying is
  one of our hobbies.
