I skimmed through a book on that too about a year ago. The
  formula isn't too difficult. I don't think I could do it though.
  My platform is online. I "preach" with every comment, every
  message, every post and to the individual I'm talking to and
  yet, I try to write in general enough terms so that anybody can
  look at it. Yeah, having audiences swooning at my every word,
  applauding at the right times, going "aww" at the right times...
  I just couldn't do that. Tempting though. I also thought of
  starting up a cult/religion/philosophy many times in my life.
  The rules aren't hard to follow. Right word choices, right
  style, a decent business model. I could even make it an ethical
  cult/philosophy/etc and start up an intentional community with
  it. But... I just can't. Critical part of my conscience is
  allowing ppl to be who they are, not just talk about it a lot...
  but tempting? Yeah it is. == At the same time, when something is
  important to me, I feel the need to impress it in others. So,
  perhaps I do have a platform of some kind. Still though, I dunno
  what it is. TED talk... I'd need a book to be selling on the
  back table tho' :P ==
