You're welcome. I didn't know anything about the history of
Zimbabwe (American education doesn't teach much about the rest
of the world), but I knew what I saw in the video was very
stupid and racist. All I had to do is look up "History of
Zimbabwe", then "Cecil Rhodes" and then "De Beers". It was
enough to know the video was completely misrepresenting history
for a bad purpose. == MC "Self education really is more helpful
than the american education, but it is obvious that this post
brought some peoples true selves out and im glad that at least
one person had the right mind to look into it at least a
little." == I'm glad I was that one person like emoticon I don't
like when people try to rewrite history. It's hard enough
keeping track of history as it is because there are so many
opinions. But when it's blatantly biased like this, something
has to be wrong with it, and there is. It's bothersome that so
many people on this thread are agreeing to it without checking.
I don't know why but I guess it suits their values.... or lack
of values. == The cutesy cartoon makes no mention of what's an
extraordinarily significant point of Cecil Rhodes's involvement
in Zimbabwe. I can't take the cartoon seriously as any kind of
legitimate representation of history. == It was, but in more of
an echo chamber effect. It would only convince the convinced. ==
It's just, I suffered through it, expecting to be educated about
a subject I knew little about and I was left with a "wtf". Then,
2 minutes of research showed me the gaping hole in the whole
thing, enough for me to dismiss it. I'm not normally that
dismissive, but this was a dreadful display of what it was. ==
