They created their own little world where everything makes
sense, but it's out of step with the rest of civilization. It's
got a huge echo chamber component to it. Same's true for a lot
of movements though and a lot of religions and things too. When
I talk to someone who is die-hard into it, I feel as if I'm
talking to someone who just discovered Jesus and wants to tell
me all about it. Convertitis factor is huge. The consistency and
repetition among people who align themselves with it by ideology
(rarely by name) is just plain out weird looking from an
outsider's POV. I can start a conversation with one, someone
else joins in, I get the same word-for-word responses, and
finish off the conversation with a third person, and it's as if
I was speaking to one person the whole time. It's cultish.
