Alturism is real. But it's nearly invisible. Yet there are
levels of alturism. Then you have the level of alturism which is
the "enlightened alturism" or,"let's not waste this opportunity
of alturism for a bit of self-promotion". ALL OF THESE, are
superior to selfishness for selfishness sake.
