Well, you can die for a cause. 1991, Amherst MA USA, at
Hampshire College. Smelled a sickly sweet smell and a light
blue-gray smoke crossing the campus. It was gross and yet almost
familiar, like I'd heard of it somewhere before. Find out later
on, a guy had self-immolated to protest the war in Iraq from
Prez Bush #1. The vapors drifted through the woods and made it
to the school from the center of town. I remembered the smell
because of an old TV show that described the smell and look of
spontaneous combustion and that was it. Anyway, I dunno what he
accomplished, but at least he became a story.
