I "speed read" music videos: bit of verse, bit of chorus, I look
  for the drop (if any), then the ending, then the beginning. I
  can read a whole song in seconds that way* == I analyze music in
  pieces. Lyrical analysis is easier (it's poetry) but I usually
  jump to genre first as that's my primary interest in music. = I
  go from mood --> content. The mood clarifies the content. =
