On Vine, I make a lot of ridiculous videos. Beyond 14,000 now,
yikes. Anyway, at some point about 1.5 yrs ago, a boy who was
following me saw a Vine where I used a curse in it. He wrote a
comment, "Oh, could you not curse? It makes me sad". I wrote 'k'
but internally I felt small. A few months later, I made another
Vine with a curse in it [I did a sentence diagram on a meme song
at the time ... something about getting out of a car I think and
it had fucking or fuck in it] Anyway, same guy (forgot he was
around) said in the comment, "You promised you wouldn't curse".
_sigh_ I couldn't argue 'cause, well, it wasn't hard for me not
to, so not doing it at all wasn't much of a stretch. After my
fuck-talk time in my early 20s though, I rarely cursed since.
When I *do* curse though? People listen. There are dropped jaws,
shocked faces, the record needle scratches. It's like having a
hidden power.
