Well, I bring that one up because it was the thing that
  "everybody was talking about" at the time, 7.5 years ago. I was
  excited about that, just as people are excited about this. But I
  honestly don't know if anything came of it, just as I'm not sure
  if anything will come of this, outside of needing to prove
  results for a new LIGO detector in order to continue to secure
  fundings for a bit longer. So while it's not a direct
  comparison, it's an example of comparing a hyped up "Science
  Discovery That Will Change Everything" - and wondering whether
  it really *did* change "Physics as we know it" or if it is just
  a way to justify their jobs.
