I have a several miles/kilometers long list of "need to" smile
  emoticon I'm saving it for when I need a brain-boost. It's hard
to explain... hmm. let's see... I've been on a mostly TV-free
diet for a few years. It happened about 1/3 into this video
  [1]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y43qwS8fl4 on May 11, 2013.
I was so inspired when I realized that I had a LOT OF GAPS in my
knowledge about big data, sparse data sets, columnar databases,
the 6 cell layer of "human" that is icing on our animal-brain
cakes... that I ditched the Science channel, Sci-Fi network and
the TV in my room got a layer of dust on it. [I'd dust it off
for Doctor Who ... and watch 'fluff' shows like mysteries or
Bravo gossip oddness with others in the house on other TVs but
nothing that could get me sucked in] I was, and am, determined
to "understand it all" and it took me 1 yr and 9 days of study
before I knew enough to finish the video, and I did. I've
continued the same approach as I progressed beyond automated AI
as they exist at present and near-future tech. Yet ,this
post-dates Farscape by 14 years. Timey-Wimey stuff. In March,
1999 when Farscape premiered, I was heavily into the Orthodox
Church, trying to absorb nearly 2000 years of a history and
peoples and concepts that into my little brain and I discovered
something I found to be useful. I wrote myself a little note
around this time in 1999 in one of my little 3x5 notepads:
"Remember: Small Bites, Chew Thoroughly." So, just as it took me
a year and nine days to learn enough in my spare to time to feel
as if *I* could give the same speech that Jeff Hawkins did: and
knew enough that I could debate him on prickly issues enough to
finish that video... in 1999 I was so absorbed in my Orthodox
project that absorbing the philosophy and alternate reality of
the Farscape universe at the same time would've been handing me
a desert when I was still chewing the main meal on my plate. So,
I'm saving these things for later :) + Now that I've written all
of that, I think I can see the connection better: [I have to
unfurl before I can recompress the data]: I thoroughly explore
alternate Universes, whether a religious universe, the universe
of cognitive science, the universe of a TV show, etc. I get
*really* into a universe when I explore it smile emoticon =
