I wanted to study German in 7th grade. They gave us samples of 3
  languages, each for a quarter. But in 9th grade I went to a
  smaller school (much better for me) and they had French and
  Spanish, no German. So, I started with French, swapped over to
  Spanish and ended up having the best Spanish teacher; not for
  the Spanish she taught but for being tough on me right until the
  last day - 3.5 yrs straight.
