Also, did you know that the thing we call Politically Correct
these days started off in the US Military? Officers and soldiers
alike were given training starting in the 70s/80s and Smith
College in Amherst MA (or Mt Holyoke in Amherst - I get them
mixed up) started distributing an etiquette guide around 1988 to
different Universities that they based upon it and expanded on).
I know because I was in Hampshire College (Amherst) in 1990 and
I got one of them. It wasn't until 1992/1993 that people in the
larger world (non-University) started complaining about it. ==
What the OP is saying is that it's not politically correct to
speak politically correct and call it "Philosophy". All
politically correct is is: ETIQUETTE. Does philosophy have a
distinct etiquette? I don't know. == A good idea of any kind can
get abused that's true. PC is a good idea that wasn't intended
as a weapon but it _can_ be used as such, and that's its power
and danger, especially if it serves to oppress rather than
liberate, which was is initial intent. ==
