Noah, this is a library.* I'm archiving.* The items I'm
archiving are from a service called Vine. I don't expect the
service to be around forever and part of the Internet Archive's
mission is not just to archive movies that have gone into public
domain or Grateful Dead, but all aspects of culture. The
Internet is disappearing before our eyes.* I've been online
since 1989 and I've watched my own words and items just
disappear.* I've seen significant sites just *poof*, gone,
vanished, never to be seen again. In response to your comment on
one of my videos, yes, I'm working alone.* It's just me.* I
spent many hours preparing these Vines for upload, converting
the descriptions and keywords, dates, into a form that the
Internet Archive would find acceptable.* It took a lot of work
to prepare. Initially, I was doing them manually, retyping, one
at a time.* But they have easier ways now.* I learned how to
prepare ahead of time.* I set my little laptop to upload on my
slow DSL and they uploaded all night long, on through to this
morning. Then today, I had them batch process.* That's why you
saw them all at once. They're a part of a collection called
"Kenneth Udut".* They're exactly where they belong on the
Internet Archive. Yes, it's not full length classic films from
the 40s. It's stuff from recent history.* Little bits of
cultural history.* A window into a slice of the Internet that
will be gone someday, as many bits of the Internet are
disappearing. It's not exciting and I'm sorry if my contribution
was painful for you.* But I can't save the Internet.* I can only
do a little part. If you like, you can give my Collection a
1-star and a bad review if you like.* You don't have to like
it.* But I'm not trying to give you a bad time here. Thanks for
listening. Kenneth Udut ===== The originals (under the mp4) are
better quality than the shrunken previews you see. They're
designed to loop around and around. As far as typing them, I
typed them each individually over a 2.5 year period of time. For
example, a Vine I made on 3/8/2015 had this filename: Every
  #building has a #strange #path that leads to a #mysterious
  #unmarked #door. #Mystery-OEdvWAThbjF.mp4 That filename is
*also* the description I used when I made the Vine, which was
about a year ago. I converted the hashtag (#) into subjects in
Microsoft Excel and Notepad++ and lots of search/replace
trickery. I prepared them all ahead of time. IA offers the
ability to transfer your files *and* their descriptions at the
same time (via XML text files), through FTP. So, in short: I
typed the words a LONG time ago and never have to type them
again. I just had to convert them into a format that IA can
accept. Once they were prepared, I submitted them all. That's
the wave of incoming that you ran into today. I had already
prepared them from my ugly yellow chair on my back lanai in my
Naples, FL home the night before.   === My responses to this

Enough is ENOUGH - THOUSANDS of worthless uploads Kenneth Udut !
  Almost 90 PAGES of 6 second episodes of poo. . . . . . between
  him and the Brit - - - Lessee - - - 90 pages at an average of 50
  uploads per page is ohhhh. . . . . .( = ) 4,500 uploads of only
a few seconds worth (each) of out of focus *stuff* ! ! ! Talk
about slamming the site with worthless uploads ! ! ! It takes
  longer to write/type the descriptions - - - this uploader CAN*T
be working alone. Isn*t there some way to discourage abusers
  like this? Noah 8-? ===   Enough is ENOUGH ! ! ! A search of
Kenneth Udut and Lo and Behold Almost SIX Thousand uploads of 6
  or so seconds each ? ! ? ! Results: 5,902 through 5,950 of 5,949
(0.015 secs) You searched for: mediatype:movies AND
  subject:"KennethUdut" In one day - - - A THOUSAND uploads?
  What*s wrong with this picture? Noah 8-? ==== 5 or 6 second
vignettes ! ? ! ? and most out of focus shots of YOUR face?
  Thousands of them ! ? ! ? That isn*t archiving - - - that*s
slamming. There*s no humanly way possible that you are uploading
these * these - whatever you want to call them* individually - -
  - and I hardly think that you could possibly be doing this by
yourself. It takes longer to type the text than it takes to the
view the contribution. And Almost Six THOUSAND uploads? What
for? Why are you sending these to IA if not to keep anyone
else*s contribution from being noticed among your flood? News
broadcasts are one thing * YouTube contributions are another.
YouTube broadcasts are archived on their own massive banks.- - -
but your hundreds + daily ? ? ? Really now, As for this
  participant - - - I would rather share than impose - - - YOUR
contributions are an imposition to anyone else that tries to
upload something that could be of value to the rest of the
world. IMHO FIVE THOUSAND several second spots ain*t it. Noah
