That explains some things. Raised Methodist, I remember
thinking, "needs more candles". After religion hopping in my
teens and early 20s, settled on Eastern Orthodoxy. There they
had concepts like Theosis, a medicinal rather than punitive view
of things - and all very precisely worked out with great care
long ago with concepts that don't exist in western christiandom.
I'm not a part of it now, but this part of it came easy. It was
already how I saw things and it was nice to explore the
tradition I came from as deeply as it could go. I'm agnostic
now, but I think it's somewhat of a true agnostic as in, "I
don't know", plain and simple. But it was nice to go through the
  experiences and gain the knowledge.
