lol actually I agree with the original article as well. Yet,
what can be done? Dismantling the system seems an impractical
task; not impossible - I have dreams, but without actually
working for change, it does come off as "disgruntled worker
complaints". But - now that I've said that: I'm a disgruntled
idealist, in precisely the same type of 'boat' as the article
writer. I wanted schools to change SO BADLY and worked hard at
it for years, from at least the age of 14 onwards (there it was
dress code ridiculousness but the more I learned, the more
school bothered me). Going through student loans, paying them
of, wondering, "What for!?!", I fell deeper in. And, I suppose
my critique as at myself. Where's the idealist Kenny who wants
to fix education? He's still here and still fighting but going
so more subversively because I realized that "Help from above"
(political solutions) weren't going to come. So I encourage
people to question EVERYTHING; especially the stuff they agree
with. It keeps ppl from being led so much. I want people to
disagree with me. I want to be wrong. This is my current
solution. It's why I can see why they're right when they call
him a quitter. It's why I can see he's write in his critique of
the system as it is. I'm both sides and it's rather annoying. It
was easier when there were good guys and bad guys. === Actions
speak louder than words. Absolutely. Consider the action-value
of agreement and the action-value of debate. Stating "I believe"
is not so much a deed but finding common ground between
divergent beliefs and different people _is_ a deed. It is akin
to connecting pipes for water to flow. ==
