"1. Capitalism is based on the assumption that you can win. "2.
Socialism is based on the assumption that you can break even.
"3. Anarchism is based on the assumption that you can quit the
game. Indeed. Utopian visions generally lead to frustration
because they're unlikely to be pragmatic. In part, each of 1, 2
and 3 can push and pull against each other to form an undulating
structure that functions but any of the three on their own could
never make it, I don't think. == True but I think we're still in
the neophyte stages of the Industrial Revolution. Earth is
strong - I don't think we could kill it. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe
we can. I'm grateful for the Industrial Revolution for letting
me be here, behind this computer, doing what I'm doing right
now. I don't think things were better back then. At the same
time, our awareness of our free-for-all behavior and the damage
it causes is dawning on us, and we're making restorative
measures. We've been doing so for decades and the process
continues. I wouldn't want to "go back" to how I perceive things
were. I like today. But I think we can learn from what we've
forgotten from the past to improve from this point forward. ==
