I always struggled with inference. My brain just doesn't infer
  like other people's do. Never did. Did miserably on those tests
  that ask "what is the author's intention"? They all seemed
  equally valid to me. Still do, but i can pick out the most
  likely "popular answer" among a given population now but it's
  something I rationalize through based on years of data
  accumulation.
