Thankfully we have hysteresis: lag. Memory. Anticipation. All we
  _have_ to work with is the constructed now and in this, there is
  a lot of power. There'd BE no future without this ability to
  weave the future's past in the present. So, to me, it's quite
  real: perhaps the only real thing because we CAN do something in
  this lag-space.
